Human trafficking and slavery continue to plague many places throughout the
world, and Walter's Audi supports efforts to eliminate such practices. Given
that Walter's Audi is franchised to sell Audi brand automobiles and parts that
we purchase from Volkswagen Group of America, we rely upon the efforts
of the automaker to eradicate human trafficking and slavery from the supply
chain. Accordingly:
We do not engage in verification of our product supply chains to evaluate and
address risks of human trafficking and slavery.
We do not conduct audits of suppliers to evaluate their compliance with company
standards for trafficking and slavery in supply chains.
We do not require direct suppliers to certify that materials incorporated into
the product comply with the laws regarding slavery and human trafficking of the
countries in which they are doing business.
We do not maintain internal accountability standards and procedures for
employees or contractors failing to meet company standards regarding slavery
and trafficking.
We do not provide company employees and management with training on human
trafficking and slavery or mitigating risks within the supply chains of
products.
Volkswagen Group of America's (VWGoA) Human Rights, Employment and
Procurement Practices
We respect internationally recognized human rights and support the observance
of these rights.
We reject all deliberate use of forced or compulsory labor. Child labor is
prohibited. We comply all applicable employment laws, including the minimum age
requirements for employment.
VWGoA contracts for goods, services and other inputs in the US with reputable
companies that have internal standards requiring all employment practices
comport with US laws, including those that prohibit slavery and human
trafficking.
VWGoA requires its suppliers to represent and warrant as follows:
"Supplier and its employees and Subcontractors will abide by the highest
ethical standards. Neither Supplier nor any of its Subcontractors will utilize
slave, child prisoner or any other form of forced, involuntary or illegal
labor, or engage in abusive worker treatment or corrupt business practices in
the sale of Goods or provisions of Services…" Violation of the foregoing
would be considered a breach of contract, and VWGoA would cease doing business
with any such supplier.Â
